Matthew Murphy is an Associate at Reference Point with experience in data and operational analytics, business intelligence and computer programming.
In his previous position at the Federal Reserve, Matthew focused on the analysis of fixed income securities, associated derivatives and the domestic market’s reaction to monetary and economic announcements. Through his experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting market data to policymakers, Matthew honed both his data analytics and communication skills.
Matthew’s desire to move into a position that leverages both his outgoing personality, as well as his passion for data analytics brought him to Reference Point. The boutique size of the firm has provided him the opportunity to heavily impact the projects he is invested in – from client engagements to business development opportunities.
Matthew graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Honors College in 2016. He holds a double major, including a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics and a BA in International Studies with a concentration in globalization. In addition, Matthew is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys spending time at Washington, D.C.’s most popular restaurants and bars.
