Michael Dugan is a Consultant at Reference Point with experience supporting operational risk, merger integration, and technology implementation initiatives at leading financial institutions. He is also well-versed in program and portfolio management, where he leverages strong data and analytical problem-solving skills to realize efficiencies and coordinate across stakeholders and teams. Michael is highly motivated and uses his leadership abilities to build productive working relationships while managing cross-functional teams across the product and initiative lifecycle.
As a consultant at Reference Point, Michael successfully re-engineered and managed the sourcing and onboarding processes for the ramp up of technology resources to support large-scale integration efforts between two leading financial services institutions. He has also configured and implemented a strategic reporting solution for a technology portfolio of over 100 initiatives and continues to coordinate across client business units to provide valuable portfolio monitoring and oversight of critical digital and integration efforts.
Prior to joining Reference Point, Michael was a consultant at a global management consulting firm focused in Financial Services. Working across Finance, Risk and Compliance functions at various clients, Michael helped to design and implement operational risk assessment frameworks and develop strategies to enhance the resilience of critical bank functions and processes. He has also worked closely with business and technology leads across the software development lifecycle, successfully coordinating with developers, business stakeholders, designers, and testers to ensure application features provided measurable business benefits. Michael was also an essential component of training, knowledge sharing and change management efforts following system go-live, often leading trainings and informational sessions for dozens of senior-level individuals at a time.
Michael graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BS in Human and Organizational Development. In his free time, Michael enjoys traveling, snowboarding, practicing the guitar and spending time with friends and family.
